Evidence you should not keep after a rotation
Good teams want proof a ceremony happened. Over-eager teams photograph seed cards “for the record.” That second copy is often riskier than the gap they meant to close.
Prefer attestations over replicas
Signed checklists, timestamps, and role confirmations show process without duplicating secrets. If policy requires photos of sealed bags, frame only the seal — never readable material.
Watch the wiki
Internal wikis accrete screenshots. Schedule a post-ceremony purge of temporary channels and confirm that shared drives did not receive “just in case” exports.
Retention with an end date
Even allowed evidence should expire. Write how long ceremony logs live and who destroys them. Indefinite storage is a decision, not a default.
